About

Eight Stony Street began with such fierce love and support from the Frome community; finally the building with the best view in town had a new owner and the place was being reinvigorated!

Not only did Kent and team pour their heart and soul into creating a place that felt special and fun, but it was full of friendly people who were passionate about simple, delicious food and lots of exciting wine!

For founder Kent and Head of Wine Sarah the story starts with wine, which is why the shop is stocked with over 400 bottles from around the world. At the bar and in the restaurant you have phenomenal wine on tap and wines by the glass. Wherever or however, Eight Stony Street’s driving force is to celebrate the symbiosis of food and wine.

But because of its hybrid format of restaurant, wine bar and wine shop, with a café-bistro feel during the day and something more elegant at night, Eight Stony Street provides a place to revel in for lovers of all food and drink.
The menu is seasonal and really prioritises local provenance, thanks to Chef Dominique’s meticulous efforts. Pizza from the wood fired clay oven is a real favourite in Frome, but so are the specials, like the ever-changing Butcher’s Cut and Market Fish.

The highest quality ingredients from truly dedicated suppliers let Dom and his kitchen create a simple and satisfying menu of Sea, Garden, Field & Dairy catering to all, with plant-based food taking equal billing to suit vegan and vegetarian friends.

All produce is responsibly sourced, from hand-dived scallops to ex-dairy cow beef and responsibly managed to minimise food waste.

Apart from being socially and environmentally responsible Eight Stony Street is also very much about demystifying wine and making it as fun, and accessible as possible. This is why the Tastings and Events at Eight Stony Street are so well loved. Check them out here.
